Small Mines and Mines Drainage Unit in 1951

In 1951 the Small Mines and Mines Drainage Unit in the North Eastern Division of the National Coal Board was under the management of Clifford Beevers (1893-1967).

Beevers was General Manager, based at Westfield House, Westfield Road, Parkgate, near Rotherham (Telephone no. Rawmarsh 145).

The stations and sites under the remit of the unit in 1951 consisted of:

  • Elsecar. Hemingfield. Pumping Station. (Electric)
    • Manager and Inspectorate as above.
  • Hemingfield. Hemingfield. Pumping Station. (Electric). 2 employed above ground, 2 below ground in 1950.
    • Manager and Inspectorate as above.
  • Rob Royd and Strafford Silkstone. Dodworth. Pumping Station. (Electric). 10 employed above ground, 5 below ground in 1950.
    • Manager and Inspectorate as above.
  • Warren House. Rawmarsh. Pumping Station. (Electric).
    • Manager and Inspectorate as above.
  • Westfield. Parkgate. Pumping Station. (Electric). 3 employed above ground, 16 below ground.
    • Manager and Inspectorate as above.
